Worch Memorial Public Library announced it will participate in the Ravelry Group’s initiative to make 6,000 hats for the crew of a super carrier.
From now until Nov. 1, 2021 Worch Library is asking community knitters and/or crocheters to help with this project. Stop in the library to get patterns, specifications and a limited supply of yarn are available at the library for use in the project.
In previous years the Ravelry Group has donated about 1,000 hats to U.S. Navy or Coast Guard vessels each year. This year, it has been requested to make the hats for a super carrier of 6,000 crew members and they are asking for help. Donations are usually made during the winter holidays, giving a morale
boost for the service men and women who are serving, which is why all donations need to be back to the library by Nov. 1 to ensure they are received in time to be included.
Feel free to attach a note of thanks or encouragement with the donation. For more information about the specifics of the program or anything happening at the library, call 937-526-3416 or go to www.worch.lib.oh.us. The library is located at 790 S. Center St., Versailles, Ohio, 45380 and open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
