The Western Ohio Athletic Conference is in its 1st season of competition with member schools: Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Dixie, Franklin Monroe, Mississinawa Valley, National Trail, Newton, Preble Shawnee, Tri-County North, Tri-Village and Twin Valley South.
The Tri-Village girls golf team went undefeated to win the conference title going 12-0.
“This was a very memorable season. The girls all came together at the right times and players stepped up when they needed to. That’s one of the elements I’m most proud of; when we needed someone to step up, there was always someone ready. We took scores from every varsity player this year. That just goes to show how balanced the team was,” Tri-Village coach Roy Lowrie stated.
“Winning the first annual WOAC tournament was a great experience for all the girls. It was a culmination of the season for all of us. It’s going to be hard to top this year, but our girls are resolute to make improvements. We’re looking forward to next season already,” Lowry concluded.
Katelyn Hines of National Trail was medalist of the year with an average 9-hole score of 42.30.
Tri-Village Roy Lowrie and National Trail Gene Eyler were co-coaches of the year.
