Wendel named interim FM high school principal

PITSBURG— At a special meeting last Monday, the Franklin Monroe Local School District Board named Dr. Lisa Wendel the Interim Principal for the Franklin Monroe Middle and High School.

She will replace PJ Burgett, who served in the position for seven years. The school board plans to move forward with the search for a permanent replacement this spring around March or April.

“We’re really pleased to have Dr. Wendel taking on this role,” Franklin Monroe Superintendent Jeremy Pequignot said. “Obviously she brings a lot of experience to this job, and we’re fortunate to have her aboard this year. We couldn’t be more pleased about that.”

Dr. Wendel recently served as the Franklin Monroe Elementary School guidance counselor for five years. Prior to that, she served as the Career Pathway Coordinator at Darke County Economic Development (DCED) for four years. She does bring with her administrative experience, having been the Superintendent at Mississinawa Valley School District for six years prior to working at DCED.

Franklin Monroe Local School District will start school on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022.
