Greenville's Warren Hartzell finishes seventh best overall at Springfield's Christoff Memorial Tournament

Wave boys golf scores well at Springfield

SPRINGFIELD – The Greenville boys varsity golf team finished eighth out of 24 reams at the Christoff Memorial Tournament play at Springfield’s Reid Park.

“Once again we had windy conditions on Saturday but we didn’t play too bad,” said Greenville coach, Brian Stickel. “We play our Sectional here so this was a good warm up for us. Gave us a good look at the course.”

Greenville’s Warren Hartzell finished seventh best overall with a score of 82. Alex Kolb shot a 94, Ethan Sunsdahl carded a 95 and Sam Bankson finished with a 96 on the day. Also playing for the Green Wave was Lance Greer with a 101.

“Warren played really well,” Coach Stickel noted. “I know he would tell you he wasn’t happy but he played a good round.”
