Veterans Walking Tour slated for Sept. 8

GREENVILLE—The Fort Greeneville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will host a walking tour on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 at the Greenville Union Cemetery, 200 West St.

The tour will begin at 6 p.m. and last approximately one hour, featuring several veterans buried at Greenville Union Cemetery. The tour will begin at the office located next to the main archway entrance.

The tour will feature several veterans in the “old” section including American Revolution, Civil War, World War I and World War II veterans. The tour is free and open to the public.

Members from the DAR chapter and family members will give information of the veterans service and experiences while serving for their country.

There are more than 1,550 veterans buried in the Greenville Union Cemetery with the earliest being in the American Revolutionary War.
