Versailles Carson Bey gets the pin and placed 4th overall in his 165lb weight class. The Tigers finished 5th overall out 53 teams in all divisions and 3rd in the small school division.

Versailles Competes At GMVWA Holiday Wrestling Tournament

The Versailles Tigers placed 5th overall out of 53 teams and 3rd in the small school division at the annual Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday Wrestling Tournament at Vandalia Butler Student Activity Center on Tuesday.

The Tigers finished with 134.5 team points and had six placers in the prestigious tournament consisting of teams from all divisions.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Taran Tyo, who placed third at 285 pounds. Tyo fell just short of reaching the championship match as he dropped a razor thin 3-1 decision to eventual champion Nolan Neves of St. Paris Graham in the semifinal. The Tiger senior, who recently committed to play collegiate football at Ball State University, then defeated Skylar Horn of Mason by the score of 4-1 for third place.

Finishing fourth for Versailles was Kane Epperly at 157 pounds and Carson Bey at 165 pounds, while Caleb Kaiser (175 lbs.) and Brayden Keihl (215 lbs.) both took fifth.

The final placer for Versailles was Payton Platfoot, who finished 8th at 132 pounds.
