Lady Tigers play well in loss to perennial powerhouse Fort Loramie Lady Redskins
VERSAILLES – The Lady Tigers dropped a 3-0 volleyball matchup with the visiting Fort Loramie Lady Redskins in Saturday afternoon non-conference action.
“We’re right there,” said Versailles coach, Kenzie Bruggeman. “I don’t think they realize it just yet on how consistent and how good they could be. We keep seeing little blurbs of it but it’s just not consistent enough.”
Loramie jumped out to a 10-3 first set lead bringing a timeout from the Versailles bench and would push its lead to double digits at 17-6 on their way to a 25-13 win.
Set No. 2 saw 12 ties with the last coming at 18-18 before the Lady Redskins used 7-2 run to close out scoring and earn a 25-20 second set victory.
Versailles grabbed an early 6-1 third set lead with Fort Loramie battling back to knot the score at 10-10 on their way to a 25-22 win.
“Look at our whole entire season so far,” Bruggeman stated. “It’s a great game, not great game, great game, not great game, so it’s a matter of finding that and fine tuning it. We might have had an off first game but that doesn’t mean it impacts the rest of the match and right now it’s impacting the rest of our match.”
