Union City senior Carlee Rismiller honored for breaking the 1,000 career assist mark

UNION CITY, Ind. – The Union City volleyball team took their first loss of the season at the hands of the visiting TEC conference opponent the Lady Patriots of Union County Thursday night.

The Lady Indians came out ready to battle as they fought to the final point in the first set, taking the win 32-30. Unfortunately, that was the only set they took from Union County, losing the match 3-1.

Union City senior Carlee Rismiller was honored during the game for breaking the 1,000 career assist mark.

“We started out strong, taking the Union County Patriots 32-30 winning the first set. Unfortunately we didn’t come out as strong the rest of the night, but there were some great moments in the game including Rismillers 1,000 assist for her career,” said UC head coach Ashley Gard. “The girls fought hard and we have to remember that sometimes it takes a loss to help us to win our future.”

UC falls to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The team will travel to conference rival Winchester Tuesday night for a showdown with the Lady Falcons.
