Union City scores 12 first quarter points in win over Hagerstown
UNION CITY, Ind. – The Indians continued their winning ways Friday night as they got their first conference win with a 25-9 victory over Hagerstown.
Union City put 12 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter, before giving up a safety in the second to take a 12-2 lead at the half. The Tigers finally found the end zone in the third quarter, but the Indians answered with a TD of their own. UC senior Brenden Wright snagged a Pick 6 late in the game to slam the door on Hagerstown and secure the 25-9 TEC victory.
“Great win for the program. Brenden Wright played well on both sides of the ball,” stated UC head coach Keith Maloy. “Our kids have worked hard to get to this point and they are willing to keep working to get better.”
Union City advances to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the TEC. The Indians will hit the road for the first time this season, travelling to Knightstown this Friday for another conference match-up.
