Two appear in common pleas court

GREENVILLE— Two people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Thursday afternoon. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided.

Hiram E. Roberts, 23, of Tipp City, was arraigned via Zoom call from the Darke County Jail on one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months incarceration and a maximum fine of up to $5,000, none of which are mandatory. His attorney David Rohrer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. His current bond of $12,500 was continued with his next appearance on Friday, Jan. 21.

Jerry W. Blanken, 24, was arraigned on one count of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. If convicted, he faces up to 18 months incarceration and a maximum fine of up to $5,000, none of which are mandatory. His attorney David Rohrer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He was released on his own recognizance with his next appearance on Thursday, Feb. 3.
