NEW MADISON – Boy Scout Troop 96 and Cub Pack 96 of New Madison were presented a certificate of appreciation from the Ohio Division of Wildlife during the Great Darke County Fair.
Presenting them with their award were Darke County Wildlife Officer Jeff Wenning and Jena Powell, state representative of the 80th House District.
The certificate read: “The scouts and leaders of the Boy Scout Troop 96 New Madison have been valued partners of the Ohio
Department of Wildlife through the promotion of conservation and assistance with events and activities across Darke County.”
Tom Stevenson, scout leader, said among the activities the youths were cited for running the fishing booth at the Darke County Sheriff’s Patrol’s Home and Sports Show and, for the first time this year, running the BB gun range among other achievements.
Among those in attendance at the award presentation were: Tom Stevenson, Blake Shives, John Golden, Ryder Hymes and Ellen Golden and back row, Don Wright, Amanda Wright, Cameron Kimmel, Elias McDaniel, Jared Shives, Diesel Weatherly, Dan Waldon, Dan Golden, Robin Golden, Clint Shives, Ed Varvel and Paula Waldon.
