Tri-Village host first Night at the Races to large turnout

NEW MADISON – Schlechty’s Sport Bar & Grill held the 2022 Night at the Races on behalf of  Tri-Village Athletics in support of the Patriots athletic department with a large crowd on hand supporting the program.

“We have always had great community support for anything we do athletics wise, education wise,” said Tri-Village Athletic Director Brad Gray. “We are fortunate to be in a community that supports our people.”

The Saturday night event is the first Night at the Races for Tri-Village with hopes of making the event an annual affair.

“For the first year doing this it’s been a good turnout,” said Gray. “Hopefully we’ll continue to build on it as the years go by but what a great first night.”

Shellie Francis spearheaded the event along with the many volunteers to make the night a success.

“Shellie has been the brains behind the operation for this tonight,” Gray said. “She’s been a tremendous help and spearheaded the whole event so definitely want to send a huge thank you to her and all of our volunteers. We have a lot of people volunteering, working the betting booth, working the ticket table, the 50-50 so we’ve had many people volunteering tonight and we appreciate that.”

“The community really supports everything here at Tri-Village,” said Shellie Francis. “For a first year it is a really good turnout. I am very pleased and we’re hoping to make this a yearly event for the athletic department.”

The event held at Schlechty’s Sports Bar & Grill in New Madison made for a great evening of fellowship and fun.

“I would like to thank all the sponsorships who donated,” Francis stated. “Race sponsors, Level MB who was our main sponsor, Schlechty’s Sports Bar for hosting it here and all of the sponsors.”
