"Sweet 16" ALL-AMERICAN Patriot Cheer & Dance Championship hosts 33 performances
NEW MADISON – Tri-Village hosted the 16th Annual All-American Patriot Cheer and Dance Championship 2021 on Sunday afternoon.
The cheerleading event began 2005 hosting eight team performances on a Saturday morning.
“It was a great day I will always remember,” said Darlene Ary. “The event was from 10:00 am and was cleaned up and over by noon.”
The 2021 event celebrated this year’s Cheer and Dance Championship as the “Sweet 16” with 21 seniors honored from competing teams.
The following year the event was moved to the las Sunday in September and continues to grow each year with the exception of 2020 when all local competitions were cancelled due to the CORONA Virus pandemic moving the 16th competition to 2021.
The event day was filled with Rose Gold, Pink, Gold and Black Sweet 16 balloons, Ice Pink carnations and glittered hairbows were sold along with beautiful shirt deigns that were sold out before the event started.
The “Sweet 16” hosted 33 performances for the 2021 competition and included 21 seniors honored from competing teams.
“We were pleased with the turnout and attendance knowing that the pandemic had made an impact on both teams performing and the general public attendance,” Ary noted. “We did everything we could to make this event safe for all the talented teams of young athlete to be able to compete and perform.”
“Recognizing the seniors are a special and important moment to celebrate and remember. I felt so badly for last year’s seniors who did not get this experience last year. I have to say that when all the teams gathered on the mats for the Final Dance Party prior to awards, I stood and just took it all in.”
This is the reason we do what we do … It’s all about the cheerleader athletes and coaches,” added Ary. “Tri-Village is proud to host a competition that provides a venue for these young athletes to share their skills, talents and hard work. The great performances made this Cheer and Dance showcase one to remember. It’s really true … Sweet 16, for cheer and dance … It’s sweeter on the Mats.”
