Versailles Tigers advance with 34-8 win over the Carlisle Indians
VERSAILLES – The Versailles Tigers football team defeated the Carlisle Indians 34-8 in Saturday night OHSAA football playoffs.
The Tigers were challenged by the Indians triple option run heavy offense early, but the Tigers bent but did not break shutting the Indians out until under a minute left in the game.
The Carlisle Indians would get its lone score of the night against the Tiger reserve players.
The Indians managed 114-yards rushing which is twice what the Tigers average was for the season.
The Tigers held a 7-0 lead before scoring twice in the second quarter to take a 21-0 halftime lead. The Tigers scored twice in the second half and had a running clock most of the fourth quarter.
Carson Bey, Jack Osborne, Landon Henry, and Gabe Thompson scored rushing touchdowns, while Noah McEldowney caught a touchdown pass from Carson Bey.
With the victory, the Tigers advance to play Taft at Bellbrook Saturday night with a 7 p.m. start time.
