Large crowds turnout to support Greenville Senior Night Homecoming events
GREENVILLE – Greenville Senior High School held its Homecoming Parade Thursday night with Jean and JR Price headlining the event as 2021 Parade Grand Marshalls.
“Tonight is a really fun night because we have three events,” said Greenville High School Principal, Stanley Hughes. “We have the parade which the kids and the community love, we have the community pep rally which also coincides with the Chief Green Wave Crowing.”
Million Bryant was named Chief Green Wave at the school’s pep rally held at Greenville’s Marling Band Shell following the Homecoming Parade.
“You can’t ask for a better kid on the field and off the field,” Hughes said of Bryant. “He’s a leader, he’s an academician, he’s in NJROTC – he’s a great kid.”
The night’s festivities were capped off with the sophomore girls defeating the freshman girls 8-0 in the first Powder Puff football game of the night and the junior girls defeating the senior ladies 6-0 in the second Powder Puff contest of the night.
“We end up with Power Puff night which the kids love to do and obviously the community likes it because there is a big crowd here,” Hughes stated. “We appreciate the support because what this helps us do is have a fundraiser for our Junior/Senior Prom.”
“Thanks to everyone for being out here,” concluded Hughes. “We appreciate the community being out here and supporting us.”
