Three appear in common pleas court

Three people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Monday. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided.

Nicholas R. Neal, 27, of Greenville, pleaded guilty via Zoom call from the Darke County Jail to one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. He faces up to three years incarceration, a maximum fine of $10,000 and a minimum three year license suspension. He will be sentenced on Monday, Nov. 1.

Kimberly A. Slusher, of Union City, Ind., offered a guilty plea to one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Slusher submitted a memorandum requesting that she participate in an intervention program in lieu of a conviction. The court will hold the offered guilty plea and upon completion of the intervention program, it will be dismissed. If she’s unable to complete the program, the guilty plea will stand, and she will face up to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine, neither of which are mandatory.

Ethan F. Flick, 19, of New Madison, was ordered to pay $9,845 in restitution on one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. Flick is currently in intervention in lieu of a conviction for the charge. If he fails to pay the required amount by the end of his intervention, he faces up to 18 months incarceration and a maximum fine of $5,000.
