The Great Darke County Fair gives away 100 bikes

GREENVILLE– The Great Darke County Fair celebrated its 166th year on Thursday by giving away exactly 100 bikes to young-fairgoers as a part of its Family Fun Free Give Away event.

Greenville ACE Hardware contributed and assembled the bikes and several tricycles. Additional sponsors included Darke County Agricultural Society, Beck’s Seeds, J&M Ranch, Dennis’s Concessions, Frazier Fair Foods, Dearwester Canes, Darke Rural Electric Cooperative, Fiske Fries, Jerry Price and Hunt’s Concessions.

When kids entered the grandstand, they received a double ticket, to which they dropped one in the bucket of the bike they wanted. If their name is called they won a bicycle.

In addition to the give away event, the fair also celebrated its 166th year with free admission and $15 ride wristbands until 3 p.m.
