The Great Darke County Fair announces 38 Special as Wednesday performer

GREENVILLE— The Darke County Agricultural Society announced on Thursday morning that rock band 38 Special will perform at The Great Darke County Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m.

Green is best known for early ’80s singles such as “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up in You,” along with other top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the ’80s and early ’90s, like “You Keep Runnin’ Away,” and “If I’d Been the One.”

Unlike previous fairs, this year’s fair will host two concerts, a country concert on Sunday evening and a rock concert on Wednesday evening. The country performer will be Riley Green with special guest Laine Hardy. Tickets for the Wednesday concert go on sale Saturday, March 26 at 9 a.m. and range in price from $25 to $35. They can be purchased by phone at 937-548-5044 or online.
