Ted Nugent performs at The Rose in Huber Heights
HUBER HEIGHTS – I had the distinct pleasure of being able to photograph a great concert, featuring the iconic rock star, Ted Nugent, on August 11, 2022.
If you know anything about Ted, he is not afraid to speak what’s on his mind. Ted will turn 74 years old this year. His voice still sounds great and he can still shred his guitar. Ted is a true American Rock Star. Ted played his hit songs and had the audience on their feet rocking out to all of their favorite hits.
In 1963 Ted was the lead guitarist for the Amboy Dukes. The Amboy Dukes played psychedelic rock and hard rock music. After the Amboy Dukes band dissolved, he embarked on a solo career. Ted is known for his bluesy and frenzied guitar playing and energetic live shows. Ted’s biggest hit was Cat Scratch Fever.
Ted also sang on the charity record, Hear ‘n Aid which was recorded by a large ensemble of 40 heavy metal musicians and was released in 1986. Hear ‘n Aid was organized by Ronnie James Dio. Proceeds from the album were used to raise money for famine relief in Africa.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s he was part of a super group Damn Yankees. Damn Yankees consisted of Jack Blades (bass guitar) of Night Ranger, Tommy Shaw (guitar and vocals) of Styx, and Michael Cartellone (drums). After Damn Yankees dissolved Ted returned to a solo career.
