St. Mary’s students go ‘a-Caroling’

GREENVILLE – Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of the Little House books for children, once said, “We are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.”

Sometimes, a moment of Christmas joy will catch us by surprise and lighten the atmosphere, making many spirits childlike, merry and bright.  This year, the students, faculty and staff of St. Mary’s Elementary School, located at 238 W. Third St. in Greenville, strolled the sidewalks of S. Broadway Street downtown to share a moment (or two) of Christmas cheer by singing seasonal songs, such as “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Customers at The Coffee Pot, located at 537 S. Broadway, were delighted by the surprise of so many young people singing, laughing, and sharing “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year” wishes.
