Owen wows at Darke County Fair

The Grandstand at the Darke County Fairgrounds was nearly filled to capacity for the concert featuring Jake Owen. Prior to this year, the concert had always been held on Sunday evening, but the energy Owen brought to the stage and to his audience felt much more like a weekend concert than a weekday concert.

How do you think a country music legend in the making would open a show? Why not start with one of your numerous #1 hits. From the first note of American Country Love Song until the lights came on at the end of the concert, Owen had the audience on their feet, clapping their hands and forgetting about the world outside of the fairgrounds.

Owen’s made the show personal by coming off the stage and making sure everyone had a close up look at the singer as he made his way through the crowd.

With nine #1 hits, the Darke County audience had a lot of songs to sing along with and they got to enjoy them all – Barefoot Blue Jean Night, Alone With You, The One That Got Away, Anywhere with You, Beachin, Days of Gold, American Love, I Was Jack (You Were Diane) and Homemade.

Owen also wowed concert goers with his latest single that is destined to be a hit, Best Thing Since Backroads.

Owen wasn’t the only one that caught the attention of the Great Darke County Fair concert goers. Up-and-coming country artists Kat and Alex brought their latin-influenced style of country music to the stage on Monday evening. The husband and wife duo are American Idol alums and are quickly gaining an audience around the country and beyond.
