GREENVILLE— In partnership with Whirlpool, One Energy held its Megawatt Scholarship ceremony last week.
Three local high school students each received a $5,000 scholarship from One Energy to pursue a career in STEM.
Headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, One Energy is a Utility 2.0 company that builds, owns, and operates major electrical infrastructure for industrial energy users on their side of the meter. In collaboration with One Energy’s customers, a $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to local high school seniors pursuing two-year or four-year degrees in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) fields for every wind turbine the company installs and operates. Megawatt Scholarship partners establish their own criteria and selection process, and recipient names are permanently placed on the individual turbines, in honor of their achievements. Whirlpool is one of the participating manufacturing facilities that enable the Megawatt Scholarship program.
