One arraigned in common pleas

One person was arraigned in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Monday afternoon. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided.

Brandon M. Schaffer, 33, of Greenville, was arraigned via Zoom conference call from the Darke County Jail, on one count of possession of methamphetamines, a fifth-degree felony.

If convicted, he faces up to 12 months incarceration and a maximum fine of up to $2,500. Schaffer pleaded not guilty and was allowed 10 days to retain counsel. He was released on his own recognizance, with his next appearance on Monday, Oct. 4.
