Newton wins Greenville Federal Volleyball Invitational

The Arcanum Lady Trojans earn runner-up Greenville Federal Invitational trophy

PITSBURG – The Newton Lady Indians took first place in the 2022 Greenville Federal Volleyball Invitational by defeating the Arcanum Lady Trojans 2-1 in the championship match.

“It was a great day,” said varsity tournament host school volleyball coach, Angie Filbrun. “Fun to see all the local teams together to kick our season off.”

The Tri-Village Lady Patriots placed third with a 2-0 win over the Greenville Lady Green Wave and the Franklin Monroe Lady Jets won the consolation match over the Ansonia Lady Tigers 2-0.

Teams playing in the invitational included: Ansonia, Arcanum, Bradford, Franklin Monroe, Greenville, Mississinawa Valley, Newton and Tri-Village.
