Coach Matt Macy returns to alma mater to lead Arcanum Football Program
ARCANUM – The Arcanum Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Coach Matt Macy as the new Head Coach of the Arcanum Football program. Matt was also board approved to serve the district as Middle School Athletic Director/Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Coach Macy, a 1996 graduate of Arcanum High School played collegiate football at the University of Dayton, has 21 years of coaching experience and is passionate about coming back to his alma mater to lead The Arcanum Trojan Football Program!
“I am excited and honored to again be a part of Arcanum Trojan Football. My family and I are very grateful for this opportunity to return home,” Coach Macy stated. “After many stops in my career I have always had my eye on leading the Trojans. I want to thank my wife Heather for all of her support over the years as I hope for this to be my last stop in coaching.”
“I have had many influences in my coaching and playing career that have helped shape me into the coach I am today,” Macy Added. “Many of these have held the same position I am stepping into. Coach Larry Masters, Jim Atchley, and Craig Turner had a huge impact on me during my high school playing career at Arcanum. Although I never did get the opportunity to play for Coach Martin Montgomery I was fortunate to have him as a teacher in the classroom. My past experiences with these coaches along with a great staff by my side will be what I lean on as I continue The Arcanum Trojan Football Tradition.”
“We have gained a good one with Coach Macy,” said Arcanum Athletic Director Abbey Moore. “I am extremely excited to bring Matt back to Arcanum where it all started for him. His commitment and passion for the game and the Arcanum community is a combination of success for both the Arcanum Football program and our Athletic Department.”
