Lopez Pleads Guilty to Attempted Domestic Violence

One man entered a change of plea in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday morning. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided.

Israel R. Lopez, 48, of Greenville, pleaded guilty via Zoom call from the Darke County Jail to attempted domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony. As a part of the plea, the original charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, was amended.

Lopez faces up to 12 months incarceration and a maximum fine of up to $2,500, none of which are mandatory. He was released on his own recognizance, and will be sentenced on Monday, Nov. 29.
