Greenville Lady Wave earn MVL tennis win over Piqua Lady Indians

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave tennis team defeated the Piqua Lady Indians in a home MVL Thursday night match.

“They played up to their potential,” said Greenville coach, Jim Koontz. “We’ve been getting better as the season goes along. It’s about time. It should help them with the league tournament coming up.”

Greenville swept the three singles matches to earn the win with Sadie Lance getting a win at first single, a second singles win from freshman Maddie Lance and a win at third singles by Sara Savoy.

“I was really happy for Sara,” Koontz said.

Josie Camacho and Haylee Shuttleworth played well at first singles but come up short taking the loss and at second singles Greenville took a forfeit.

With the win Greenville improves to 3-8 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
