Lady Wave solidify starting linup

The Greenville Lady Wave soccer program head into regular season play with solid lineup

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave varsity soccer team hosted the Twin Valley South Lady Panthers who are coming of a successful 2021 season in a Tuesday night scrimmage at Harmon Field.

Lady Wave head varsity coach, Dave Ernst and his staff used the last scrimmage of the 2022 season to finalize the starting eleven positions.

“The first half we played as a regulation game,” said Ernst. “We used the first half to solidify our starting eleven.”

The Lady Panthers got on the board at the 21:34 mark in the first half to grab a 1-0 lead before Greenville battled back to even the score with a Kaelyn Gump goal with 5:11 showing on the first half clock sending the teams to the halftime break knotted at 1-1.

“The second 40 minutes was more of seeking the combinations of players in certain positions,” Coach Ernst stated. “To play with Twin Valley South for 40 minutes and come out with a tie, we learned some things tonight about certain players.  We will be ready for Celina next Monday at Home.”

The Green Wave return to regulars season play Monday, August 22 in a non-conference match-up with the Celina Lady Bulldogs with a 6 p.m. start time.
