Lady Wave Golf defeats Troy

The Greenville Lady Wave golfers 13 strokes better than Lady Trojans in MVL action

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave golf team hosted the Troy Lady Trojans at Greenville’s Turtle Creek golf course in the team’s season opening Miami Valley League (MVL) match with the Lady Wave earning a 202-215 win.

“The girls played well today,” said Greenville coach, Tracy Haines. “Several of them had not played the entire front nine of the golf course as we were unable to play it last week due to weather.”

Kenna Jenkinson paced the Lady Wave with a 36, Lexi Slade shot a 48, Sofia Chrisman and Vera Cox both carded 59’s on the day.

Taylor Trissel shot a 69, Leah Curtis had a 71 and Callee Moore rounded out the Lady Wave with a 59.

Troy was led by Ashta Patel with a 50, Elise Hempker with a 54, Faith Overholser with a 54 and Emma Honeycutt with a 57.  Rounding out the Troy team were Cate Rehmert with a 62, Cori Quillen with a 64 and Savannah had a 61.

The Lady Wave are now 1-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play on the 2022 season.
