Lady Wave earn Senior Night win over Sidney

Greenville Lady Wave tennis team downs Sidney for Senior Night MVL win

GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave tennis team defeated the visiting Sidney Lady Yellow Jackets 3-2 in MVL action to earn a Senior Night win.

“It was a nice win for us tonight,” said Greenville Coach Jim Koontz. “Another conference win for the girls.”

Lady Wave seniors Josie Camacho and Sarah Savoy were honored following the Miami Valley League victory.

“They have really helped us out this year,” Coach Koontz said of his seniors. “We were short of players and they stepped up and made things happen.”

“I hate to see those kids leave – they are good kids and worked hard,” Koontz added. “It has paid off at the end of the season because we ended up well in the conference.”

The Lady Wave dropped its opening six matches of the 2022 season to go 0-6 before rebounding to go 4-3 over the last seven matches.

Sadie Lance won at first singles, Maddie Lance earn a second singles win and Camacho and Haylee Shuttleworth won at first doubles.

With the win the Lady Wave improve to 4-5 in conference play and 4-9 overall on the season.
