Greenville Lady Wave soccer team earns impressive 5-1 win over GHS alumni

GREENVILLE – Greenville veteran Lady Wave soccer coach, Dave Ernst led his high school team to a 5-1 victory over the Greenville alumni team in Saturday night action under the lights at Harmon Field following the GHS boys soccer alumni match.

“Girls played with great effort and desire,” said Ernst. “They are building the blocks for a great season.”

The day’s event started with 40-50 kids taking to the turf in a youth competition followed with the Darke County Soccer Association (DCSA) competing on the field.

“We followed up with DCSA playing for 40 minutes on the turf which is great to build comradery with the youth,” Ernst said.

The teams played two 40 minute halves of spirited competition before a nice home crowd taking in the annual event.

“This is going to be an exciting team,” Coach Ernst stated. “There’s no holes so we are going to be exciting, we’re going to be good.”
