The Greenville Lady Wave earns MVL win over the Fairborn Lady Skyhawks
GREENVILLE – The Greenville Lady Wave defeated the Fairborn Lady Skyhawks 44-24 in MVL Monday night basketball.
Playing without the services of starting point guard, floor leader and leading scorer, Skylar Fletcher, Greenville put eight Lady Wave in the scoring column to down the visiting Lady Skyhawks.
Greenville doubled up on Fairborn in the opening quarter led by Gracie Thackers’s 5-points, 2-poits each from Avery Baumann, Emalee Bowling and Minaxi Pandey and a Lilly Hayes free throw to lead 12-6 with one period in the book.
Once again, the Lady Wave doubled up on the visitors taking period No. 2 by a 14-7 score sending the team’s to the break with Greenville holding a commanding double digit 26-13 advantage.
Pandey led the Lady Wave with 7 second quarter points, Thacker added 5-points and Megan Lind contributed 2-points.
Greenville used two Laikyn Bruner 3-pointers, 5 Pandey points and a Bowling free throw to take the third quarter 12-9 and lead 38-22 heading to the final period of play.
The Lady Wave made it a four quarter sweep taking the final period 6-2 with 2-points each from Bruner, Lind and Addie Klosterman to earn a 20-point Miami Valley League victory.
