High School Boys WOAC Cross Country Champion and All-Conference Team Honors

GETTYSBURG – The Newton Indians won the High School Boys Western Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship held at National Trail High School.

Darke County teams performed well in the conference meet with Franklin Monroe finishing 2nd, Arcanum 3rd, Ansonia 4th and Tri-Village 7th.

The All-Conference team is based on performance at the league meet. Darke County runners earning first team honors were Matthew Lee and Andrew Thornhill from Ansonia, Jacob Rice of Arcanum and Aaron Crist of Franklin Monroe.

Arcanum Jacob Rice ran the second fastest individual time at the race with a 18:10.4. Ansonia Matthew Leer was the 5th place runner with an 18:26.2, Aaron Crist was 7th with an 18:40.7 and Ansonia Andrew Thornhill was 10th with a time of 18.55.9.

The high school boys cross country teams will run in the district meet today at Cedarville.
