Greenville’s Reis signs with Ashbury University

Trinity Reis signs with Ashbury University to continue her education while joining the Lady Eagles golf program.

GREENVILLE – Trinity Reis the daughter of Amy and Joe Reis signed to take her golf game to the next level with the Asbury University Lady Eagles golf program.

“I am really excited for it,” Reis said. “I think it will be a really nice opportunity for me to show my game because I think I have really improved.”

“Trinity is a great kid and like we always say, when you are a good athlete and you are a good student, these are the kinds of kids that make or break your school,” said Greenville Senior High School principal, Stan Hughes. “We need more of kids like Trinity – she’s a great kid and best of luck to her next year.”

“We are really proud of Trinity and the things she has been able to accomplish here as a golfer,” Greenville Athletic Director, Aaron Shaffer stated. “With her going down to Asbury to continue her golf career it gives her a great opportunity to further her education. She will represent us well and have a great four years I’m sure.”

Asbury University is a NCAA DIII private Christian university in Wilmore, Kentucky where Reis plans studies in Sports Filming – “but I am still on the fence with it a little bit,” said Reis.

Reis was an Integral part of the Greenville Lady Wave 2021 Miami Valley League Championship golf team, a team that went a perfect 8-0 in MVL play and a perfect 12-0 on the season.

“I think playing for Greenville helped me with my game thanks to my teammates and helping us win the MVL,” Reis stated.

“Trinity was a big part of our year,” said Lady Wave golf coach, Tracy Haines. “I think she will do very well at Asbury. She has been taking lessons and she is hitting the ball very well.”

“The girls and Coach Haines have done a great job here over the past few years with their seasons,” Shaffer said. “Obviously a lot of attention gets paid to Kenna (Jenkinson) but Trinity and the other girls have also done a great job of representing our school and our community.”

Reis had a 44.92 average over 225 holes played to finish an impressive third place in the Miami Valley League her senior season.

“I would like to thank my teammates, Coach Haines and my parents for believing in me,” Reis said of her special day.

Coach Haines is pleased with Reis’ signing and hopes it will encourage others to join the Green Wave Ladies Golf Program.

“Hopefully it will entice some girls to come out and play because I need some girls,” Coach Haines notes.    “They can contact Coach Shaffer our AD or email me at my school address: thaines@GCSWave.com
