Greenville Lady Wave, Kenna Jenkinson qualifies for state to play at The Ohio State Golf Course
CINCINNATI – The Greenville Girls varsity golf team traveled to Glenview Golf Course in Cincinnati to play in the district tournament.
The top three teams and the top three individuals not on one of those teams qualified for the state tournament at The Ohio State Golf Course.
The Lady Wave finished 10th out of 12 teams with a score of 387. Kenna Jenkinson had a 75 and qualified for one of the three spots available to an individual. She will play at state on October 22nd and 23rd in Columbus.
The Lady Wave were led by Kenna Jenkinson with a 75, Trinity Reis shot a 91, Leah Fry carded a 97 and Lexi Slade finished with a 124.
“It was a tough day on the golf course for us,” said Greenville Coach Tracy Haines. “Putts were not dropping, and the wind was causing some problems.”
“Trinity and Leah finished both finished their Lady Wave careers at district,” added Coach Haines. “I have enjoyed coaching them for the last four years and will miss them next year.”
