Greenville tennis 5-0 over Wapakoneta

Green Wave varsity boys tennis closes out regular season with shutout win over Wapakoneta

GREENVILLE – The Greenville boys varsity tennis team finished a successful season with a convincing 5-0 win over the Wapakoneta Redskins in non-conference play.

“We closed out the regular season on a high note,” said Greenville coach, Dennis Kiser. “Sectionals are up next.”

Greenville’s Jack Marchal regular season career defeating Bryce Cousino 6-0, 6-0 at first singles. At second singles the Wave’s Andrew Abell downed Aiden Bellman 6-0,6-1 and Kaitlin Combs won third singles by default.

The first doubles Mason Middlestetter and Grant Read defeated Wapakoneta’s Nathan Doll and Peyton Debell 6-1, 6-2. Mason Pierri and Avery Yount topped Connor Coffey and Madison Sams 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 to compete the Greenville sweep.

Greenville finishes the 2022 regular season with a 12-5 winning record.
