Aug. 31, 8:22 a.m.: Police were dispatched to the Greenville PD in reference to a theft. Officers spoke with victim, Dawn Houck, who advised that she collects $2 bills and had over 400 of them in a safe underneath her bed. Sometime between July 1, 2021 and August 1, 2021 an unknown suspect stole the bills out of the safe. Houck filled out a victim rights form and wrote out a statement. Police will follow up with this case in case management at a later time.
Sept. 1, 10:41 a.m.: Police were dispatched to Wayne Hospital, in reference to a wanted person that was released. Prior to their arrival, officers were told that the wanted person was Jacob Brunswick. Brunswick had an active bench warrant through the Greenville PD for failing to comply on an original charge of theft. He was located in the hospital and arrested. Brunswick was then transported to the Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated with no bond.
Sept. 1, 11:38 a.m.: Police observed Robert Fields walking down South Broadway near West Third Street. The officers knew Fields to be a registered sex offender with warrants. Dispatch confirmed that he had an outstanding warrant through the Preble County Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear on an OVI charge, no bond. He was arrested and transported to the county line, where he was released to Bailiff Pam Boyd of the Preble County Sheriff’s Department.
Sept. 2, 4:04 p.m.: Police responded to the 700 block of Martin Street in reference to a junk motor vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed a Red Pontiac GT parked at the rear of the residence. They then made contact with Ruth Trobridge, who resides at the address, and she advised that she owns the vehicle. Police served Trobridge a junk motor vehicle notice, and sent an email to the safety service director to advise him of the incident. Police will follow up in fifteen days to ensure the vehicle gets taken care of.
