Greenville boys golf team improves to 9-1 on 2021 season
SPRINGFIELD – The Greenville boys varsity golf team defeated both the Troy Trojans and Piqua Indians at Locust Hills Golf Course in Thursday night matches.
Greenville shot a season low 155 while Troy was finishing with a 171 followed with Piqua coming in with a 192.
“We played extremely well tonight,” said Greenville coach Brian Stickel. “I can’t remember when we’ve had six guys shoot 42 and below. Hopefully we can continue playing well as the MVL will be coming up next week.”
“Warren Hartzell shot an even par 36, Jack Marchal a 38, Alex Kolb a 40 and Lance Greer a 41 for the Green Wave. Also playing and shooting 42’s was Sam Bankson and Ethan Sunsdahl.
With the win, Greenville improves to 9-1 overall and 6-1 conference play on the season. Troy drops to 7-3 and Piqua 3-9 overall.
