PITSBURG – The Jets Volleyball team was a solid contender last year in the Cross County Conference race finishing runner-up in the league.  Many of the coaches in the newly formed Western Ohio Athletic Conference expect them to challenge for a title this season as well.

Angie Filbrun returns to the bench to lead Franklin Monroe and noted they have some work to do after graduating 5 seniors from last year’s team.

“After graduating 5 seniors, we are looking to rebuild and create strong relationships and a strong team bond to help us win on the court. We will work FOR each other and WITH each other to form a team that can do big things,” Filbrun stated.

She believes that will be one of her teams’ key strengths.  “Working together as a team, building each other up, cheering for each other and having a lot of fun on the court.”

“We will focus on our passing and defense to give us success with our offense. When we pass, we are successful, if we can do that this fall and worked together as a team then we will have success,” Filbrun concluded.

Filbrun also noted that Tri Village looks to be a strong team returning multiple players and made a deep tourney run last year.  Arcanum, Newton and Ansonia also can come out and fight for a top spot as well.
