Darke County public service entities talk fair safety amid The Great Darke County Fair

GREENVILLE— In preparation for the 2022 Great Darke County Fair, several public service entities met to promote safety for all who attend the fair.

The Darke County Fair Board, Darke County Homeland Security & Emergency Management Agency, Greenville Township Emergency Service, Greenville Police Department, Greenville City Fire Department, Greenville Street Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, Darke County Health Department, Spirit Medical Transport and the Darke County Sheriff‘s Office have all joined forces to improve the safety for attendees.

Darke County Sheriff Mark Whittaker added that the traffic plan this year will stay the same as previous years. As well as, there is free parking for attendees on the fairgrounds at Gate 5 and Gate 6.

The Ohio Dept. of Agriculture has started inspecting the amusement rides for safety, and will have them done in time for the start of the fair tomorrow at 8 a.m.

The Great Darke County Fair is located at 800 Sweitzer St., Greenville, Ohio 45331. It starts Friday, August 19, 2022 at 8 a.m. and lasts until August 27, 2022.
