DARKE COUNTY— It is time once again to nominate folks in Darke County for the Citizen of the Year.
The Darke County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award is the highest community recognition award given by the Chamber. It is presented annually by the Darke County Chamber of Commerce to honor an individual who exemplifies the best in volunteer and community service. The criteria for selection are as follows:
- The nominee is a member of the Darke County Chamber of Commerce or works in a business that is a member if currently employed or, if retired, was employed in a business that is a member of the Darke County Chamber of Commerce.
- The nominee is a person well-rounded in their commitments….family, church, community and employment. Above all, the nominee is a person who looks first at what they can do for others, their community and the county.
- The nominee has demonstrated extensive and diverse participation, leadership and support in public and/or private civic endeavors over a period of years.
- The nominee is a leader capable of getting others involved.
- All selections are made without regard to race, color, creed, gender, age or national origin.
