GREENVILLE—The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday afternoon to discuss various construction projects around Darke County. Commissioners Matt Aultman and Mike Stegall were present. Commissioner Larry Holmes was absent.
The board approved a motion for a Letter of Recommendation and Notice of Award for the contract to Insight Pipe Contracting, of Harmony, Penn., regarding the Sanitary Sewer Relining phase 1 in the Village of Ansonia. The Ansonia Village Council reviewed the bid package provided by Insight Pipe Contracting, and accepted it in the amount of $72,571.55.
The project will be paid for with CDBG Allocation Program grant funds, as well as contributions from the Village of Ansonia.
Next, the board approved a motion for a Grant Agreement between the Ohio Department of Development and the Darke County Board of Commissioners for $471,000 to demolish approximately 35 to 40 homes in Darke County that have began fall apart and become an eyesore.
The board said the project will go out for bid shortly, and that they will complete it in parcels. After demolition, grass will be planted in the lots. The project must be completed by May 2023. The maximum award available was $500,000.
