Commissioners talk service agreements, fund transfers

GREENVILLE—The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and the Darke County Auditor. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall and Larry Holmes were present.

The board passed Resolution (R-339-2022), for a transfer of appropriations regarding the Darke County Commissioner’s Office and the Darke County Auditor. The board approved a transfer of $8,000 for other operating expenses, and $10,000 for building construction and improvement at the Darke County Commissioner’s Administration Building. The resolution also included a transfer of $1,400 for machine and equipment maintenance and repairs at the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Next, the board approved Service & License Agreements with Pivot Point Solution for the Darke County Auditor Carol Ginn for a land use value calculator. The scope of the agreement is to provide an easy to use web-based application to assist the client in generation of land use reports. The technology should increase office efficiencies and will prove to be a valuable asset through the leveraging mapping and GIS technologies already being used.

The board also approved a Website Service & License Agreement with Pivot Point Solution for the Darke County Auditor for website hosting. The scope of the agreement is to provide a modern mobile optimized website for the Auditor’s Office. The website will provide public access to real estate information, sales, tax and other property centric information. Information pages and forms are easily managed with administrative tools allowing the office full control over content on the site.

At the end of the meeting, Commissioner Aultman said that the board continues to work on expanding rural broadband in Darke County.

“We started to have our early meetings, and visitations or hearings with some of the companies to review their RFPs [Request for Proposals],” he said. “So, that is in the process. We have appointments set up, and we will review them over the next month. Hopefully, have some kind of solution, or direction by the end of the month.”

The board holds regular session every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at 520 South Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331. For more information contact the commissioner’s office at 937-547-7370.
