Commissioners talk OSU extension, county sewers

The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Monday afternoon to primarily discuss The Ohio State University Extension and county sewers. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall and Larry Holmes were all present.

First, Rhonda Williams, 4-H Youth Development educator at the OSU Extension, updated the board on its recent achievements and programs.

She advised the board that the campus had a very successful week at The Darke County Fair, including the Friday Sampler event, which included local speakers.

“All four of the speakers this year had a connection back to Darke County 4-H,” she said. “They were all Darke County people, which was kind of cool. We often over look our local talent and we go outside [of the county]. It was nice to see them highlighted.”

The board approved Resolution (R-29-2021), to establish a policy to allow the appropriate and lawful usage of electric signatures. The policy applies to all employees and elected officials of Darke County.

The electronic signatures may be used wherever handwritten signatures are used, except where prohibited by a specific law or rule. Users of electronic signatures are required to review the document and/or entries to which their electronic signatures are affixed.

Next, the board approved Resolutions (R-291-2021), (R-292-2021), (R-293-2021), (R-294-2021), (R-295-2021), (R-296-2021), (R-296-2021), (R-297-2021), (R-298-2021) and (R-299-2021) to certify sanitary charges for North Star, Osgood, Rossburg, Rolin Acres, Stillwater, Yorkshire and New Weston-Burkettsville and Pitsburg.
