GREENVILLE— The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday afternoon to discuss the Ohio Public Works Committee, and the Ohio Memorandum of Understanding. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Mike Stegall and Larry Holmes were present.
The board approved Resolution (R-189-2022), to re-appoint Curtis Yount as the Representative and Jim Surber as the Alternate Representative to the Ohio Public Works Committee District Integrating Committee (District 11).
The appointments are three-year terms and will run through May 31, 2024.
Next, the board approved Resolution (R-76a-2022), to appoint Brian Phillips for a one-year term to represent the townships of Darke County on the Region 15 Board as established by the OneOhio Memorandum of Understanding. Phillips replaced Commissioner Holmes as the “temporary appointment.”
His appointment runs one year from March 3, 2022. From there, his appointment will be renewed in two year terms.
The Region 15 Board will consist of 27 members with three representatives from each county in Region 15. Each county will have only one vote on the Region 15 Board. Representatives from each county shall serve as follows: One representative for the Board of Darke County Commissioners; one for the municipalities of Darke County and one for the Darke County townships. Each county will determine how best to make these appointments.
The Darke County Board of Commissioners office will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
