Commissioners talk Michael’s Home, Next Generation 911

The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Monday afternoon to discuss the Michael’s Resource Treatment Center and to update the uniform guidance policy.

The board approved Resolution (R-345-2021), to transfer $170,000 to the Michael’s Resource Treatment Center for support from April to July of 2021.

The commissioners said the treatment center has had a lot of out of county visitors, so county support was not needed until now.

Next, the board approved a motion to update the uniform guidance policy previously adopted by the board on Sept. 27, 2021. The updates will reflect the current ORC competitive bidding requirements of purchases over $50,000 instead of $250,000.

The board then approved a letter supporting legislation to amend Ohio Revised Code 128 as it applies to providing Next Generation 911 in Ohio. The letter asks state legislators to consider adding funds to the state budget to help Ohio localities install wireless 911 services.

The board said the proposed amendment could result in $39 million to 911 centers in Ohio.

The Darke County Board of Commissioners hold regular session every Monday and Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at 520 South Broadway, Greenville, Ohio 45331. For more information contact the commissioner’s office at 937-547-7370.
