Commissioners talk county school resource officers

GREENVILLE— The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday to discuss county school resource officers. Commissioners Mike Stegall and Larry Holmes were present. Commissioner Matt Aultman was absent.

The board approved School Resource Officer (SRO) Agreements between the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Monroe, Mississinawa Valley and Tri-Village School Districts.

From Aug. 21, to Dec. 31 2022, all three districts agreed to pay the sum of $30,499.36 to the Sheriff’s Office. The sum will be billed in halves in the amount of $15,249.68 on Sept. 15 and Dec. 15.

The SROs will provide 40 hours of service to the three school districts per week while school is in session for the length of the school year.
