CMA to install new pastor on Sunday

GREENVILLE—Aaron Hostetter will be installed at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, as the new pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance (CMA) Church at 306 Devor St., in Greenville.

“This will be my first lead pastor role,” said Hostetter, who hails from Huber Heights. “I am getting familiar with Greenville, and hope to move to Greenville one day. I love to visit the local coffee shops and at the local restaurants.”

The 2007 Wayne High School graduate in Huber Heights is succeeding Shawn Harrison in the pastoral position at the CMA Church, whose attendance runs between 40 and 5o people each Sunday.

Hostetter said he went to Pastoral Leadership Institute, starting in 2015 and finishing this year, earning a Certificate in Pastoral Ministries.

“My parents are awesome,” he said. “My Dad, Andy, is a retired Air Force veteran, He and I actually served in Iraq together. I was in the Military (Army MOS as chaplain assistant.

My mom, Lori, was a stay-at-home mom teaching us how to be godly citizens.”

Aaron and wife Sarah have been together 12 years and will be married nine years this year. Their oldest son, Daniel is 15 and  is a freshman in high school. The second oldest is Matthew, 12, and in the sixth grade; and daughter Chloe, 9, is in third grade.

“My family loves to share interesting facts about life, play video games, and travel,” he said. “My father-in-Law, Richard Warren, is a pastor in the Missionary Church and has helped me along the way to becoming a pastor.

My mother-in-law, Patty, has also been a great support system. We have had many talks about ministry as her husband Rich is a pastor and so is her dad, Woody, who has been pastoring over 40 years.”

As noted before the family eventually wants to relocate to Greenville.

“We do not mind the commute, but want to be in the community in which God has placed us,” he said.
Aaron said he is not a member of any other organizations but said his wife and he do crossfit, whereas she goes about five days a week and just started weight lifting.

His hobby, he said, is barbecuing.

“Not the traditional gas grill,” he pointed out, “I am talking low and slow… I have a pellet smoker, and I do that hobby as often as I can. I actually worked at City BBQ before coming to CMA Church.”

How did he learn of the opening at the Greenville church?

“I was attending Fairhaven Church in Northmont and there was a missionary who told me about CMA looking for some help,” he recalled. “I applied to CMA with the blessing of the district superintendent. I am so glad to be a part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (denomination) and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for CMA Church.”
