Bradford Football Season Preview 2021

BRADFORD – The Railroaders are looking to improve on a 1-6 season last year but will have to do that with a young squad as they play in the new Western Ohio Athletic Conference.

Two junior return and they are 5’7 Landon Monnin at wide receiver and outside linebacker returns with the most experience on the team and is a 2-year letterman and all-conference player and 6’1 junior Parker Davidson at wide-receiver and inside linebacker.

Four sophomores; 5’11 Tucker Miller at running back – outside linebacker, 5’6 Garrett Trevino at wide receiver – free safety, 6’2 Eric Keener on the offensive and defensive line and 5’11 Hudson Hill.

5’6 freshman Owen Canan will be stepping into a big role immediately looking to contribute as a quarterback and defensive back.
Bradford is coached by Marcus Calvert now in his 3rd year and will run the Wing-T along with a Spread offense and will line up in a 3-4 on defense.

Although the Roaders are young coach Calvert feels he has a lot of athletic kids and good skill players returning.

“In order for us to be successful we need to execute our fundamentals by playing our game and by each player doing their job and no one else’s,” Calvert emphasized.

Calvert sees Tri-Village, Arcanum and Preble Shawnee as the front-runners in the WOAC.

“We want to get better every play, every down and be 1-0 every week that is our team goal,” Calvert concluded.
