GREENVILLE – The Bradford boys golf team dropped a WOAC golf match to the visiting Newton Indians by a 170-188 score in Tuesday night action.
The undefeated Newton team played well in downing the Railroaders squad at Greenville’s Turtle Creek Golf Course.
“Newton put up a solid 5 scores and played steady and even keeled all night and showed why they are undefeated in league play,” said Bradford golf coach, Ryan Schulze. “Keaton (Mead) and Scout (Spencer) played solid tonight like they have all year as our top two. Both have potential to make all league and move past sectionals with good individual rounds.”
“Great to get a chance to play at Turtle Creek where the sectional tournament will be held in two weeks.”
“We are still looking for someone to come in with a solid 4th score,” added Coach Schulze. “I am pleased with our 1-3, Scout Spencer (43 average), Keaton Mead (44.5 average) and Dalten Skinner (48.5 average) but if we want to make it past sectionals, one of the underclassmen will need to play well in order for us to get out as a team.”
With the win, Newton advances to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in conference play. Bradford drops to 5-3 overall on the season and 4-3 in the WOAC.
